GANGTOK: Over 3,000 tourists are stranded in Lachen and Lachung, situated in the Mangan district of Sikkim, following a flash flood that severed all road connections. Officials have confirmed their safety on Saturday.

State Disaster Management Authority has said that the death toll from flash floods in Sikkim has reached 26 with 142 people still reported missing. Read further on Dynamite News:

KOLKATA: The death toll from the devastating floods in Sikkim, has reached 40, according to officials. Army teams are now planning helicopter rescue missions to aid the thousands of people stranded in the floodwaters.

The Sikkim government has made an announcement urging people who had plans to visit the Himalayan state in the near future to delay their travel arrangements as of now. Reports suggest that travellers should put their plans on hold until the situation returns to normal.
