The UK’s most impersonated brands are Royal Mail and Evri, the study for TransUnion found.

The last few months have been busy for Royal Mail. In late April, Czech businessman Daniel Kretinsky’s EP Group acquired its parent company, International Distribution Services, for £3.6 billion – a value well below the May 2021 peak of £6 billion.

The West Yorkshire-based group said it delivered more than 807 million parcels over the year to the end of February.

German firm DHL is looking to expand its reach in the UK by merging its British ecommerce unit with Evri. The CMA will now examine the risks for competition.

The CMA will look into whether the deal could ‘result in a substantial lessening of competition’ in the postal delivery sector.
