After suspect reasoning behind the cancelation of this year's MotoGP Indian GP at the Buddh Circuit, the series says its back on the calendar next year, and will be for the foreseeable future. Why though?

MotoGP has agreed a fresh contract directly with the state government of Uttar Pradesh to stage the Indian Grand Prix from 2025-27.

The MotoGP Kazakhstan Grand Prix will not take place and a second round will be held in Qatar instead, Autosport understands.

On Tuesday the promoter of the Indian GP announced that this year’s MotoGP race was cancelled and it will look to reschedule the event in March 2025.

Fairstreet Sports, the organiser of the event along with MotoGP rights holder Dorna, revealed on Tuesday that the second edition of the event has now been called off, confirming reports published by Autosport earlier this month.

Last week, Motorsport.com announced that the Buddh International Circuit round, initially scheduled for 20-22 September, is set to be axed from the calendar after the race promoters breached a contract with Dorna Sports.

In an unprecedented MotoGP weekend, nearly 300,000 people filled the stands at Circuit Bugatti in Le Mans and this cinematic layout reached another extraordinary landmark as a massive attendance of 297,471 tickets were sold for the event.

The championship made a much-anticipated visit to Buddh International Circuit on the outskirts of Delhi last year as part of its expansion in South Asia, with the race running smoothly despite several hiccups and visa issues in the run-up to the event.

Motorsport.com understands that MotoGP rights holder Dorna has held several meetings with premier class teams to help honour the occasion.
