'Weirdest rugby try ever' leaves spectators stunned and in stitches

If rugby had an equivalent to scoring an own goal, this would be up there.

Harbour Hawks are slumped deep in their own half. After winning the ball at the scrum, the ball is pinged out to fly-half Logan Allen who punts a pretty poor cross field kick into space. There is seemingly no real danger.

Seemingly.

'Always keep your head on a swivel' springs to mind as you watch this calamity unfold.

There is a player walking off the pitch with one of the medical staff, but they are taking their sweet time in doing so. Remarkably, the ball bounces off the opposing player's head, perfectly into the grateful arms of Harbour Hawks' Michael Graham, who gallops up the field to score. The crowd reaction is a mixture of laughter and outright shock.

The player walking off seems completely oblivious to the consequences of his interference, and doesn't bother to clock that the opposing team are running in for a simple score.

Since this happened, try-scorer Graham has changed his Instagram bio to cater for his slice of fame.

""I'm that guy that caught the ball off that other guy's head then ran like 50 metres to score and social media went mad, anyway let me buy you a drink," it reads.
