Former Liverpool and Newcastle striker Andy Carroll has revealed he agreed to play for Scotland as a teenager, but pulled out at the last minute.

The forward, now at Dagenham and Redbridge, has explained he was eligible for Scotland through his grandmother on his dad's side.
