The Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings face each other Sunday in their real game. We will see how that plays out.
In a simulation of the game on Madden NFL 23, the Cardinals play good defense, limiting the production of running back Dalvin Cook, receiver Justin Jefferson and quarterback Kirk Cousins, but the Vikings limit the Cardinals to only a touchdown and come away with a 13-7 win.
Nobody scored in the first quarter.
The Cardinals took a 7-0 lead on a two-yard Keaontay Ingram touchdown run. They got the ball on a Zaven Collins interception.
However, the Vikings answered right back with a 47-yard touchdown pass from Cousins to K.J. Osborn.
The Cardinals get inside the five on their next drive and Ingram fumbles.
It was 7-7 at the end of the half.
After halftime, the Vikings opened with possession and two defensive pass interference calls got them in the red zone. They got all the way to the one-yard line but the Cardinals forced a turnover on downs.
The Cardinals did;t do anything with the ensuing possession and the Vikings missed a 56-yard field goal.
The Cardinals moved into field-goal range but Rodrigo Blankenship missed a 31-yard field goal.
In the fourth quarter, the Vikings took a 10-7 lead with a 55-yard Greg Joseph field goal.
They intercepted Kyler Murray on the Cardinals’ next drive and added a 30-yard field goal to make it 13-7.
The Cardinals didn’t score after that and the Vikings ran out the clock.
Murray had 206 passing yards and an interception. He was sacked four times. Eno Benjamin rushed for 56 yards and had three catches for 33 yards.
Rondale Moore led the team in receiving with six catches for 60 yards. DeAndre Hopkins Had five for 45 and Robbie Anderson added three for 44.
The Cardinals had three sacks. J.J. Watt had 1.5 sacks, Zach Allen had one and Markus Golden had a half sacks.
Cousins did not have a good game. He was 13-for-29 for only 155 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Dalvin Cook had 76 yards on 16 carries and Justin Jefferson was held to four receptions for 37 yards.
