ITV Love Island: Paige Thorne narrowly avoids dumping as Afia Tonkmor leaves Villa

Welsh Love Island contestant Paige Thorne narrowly avoided being dumped from the Love Island villa as she is chosen by bombshell Jacques O'Neill. That meant that Afia Tonkmor was the first contestant to be dumped from the villa.

Due to Liam Llewellyn making a shock exit from the villa, through his own choice, this left more girls in the villa leaving Paige and Afia single when they were not picked in the re-coupling on Friday, June, 10. The girls were thrown a lifeline in the form of Jacques, who is the ex of fellow Islander Gemma Owen, daughter of famous ex-footballer Michael.

Soon, any budding relationships with Jacques were put to the test when he was asked to pick either Paige or Afia. The girl not chosen would be dumped from the villa and Jacques chose to save Paige.

He said: "I found her attractive, the talks that I have had with her, we are just getting on more and more so let's see where it would go."

Reassuring the girls that she was fine with leaving the villa Afia left with her head held high. She came into the villa as a bombshell alongside Ekin-Su Culculoglu who was praised for shaking up the villa after the series was deemed "boring" by viewers.

Jacques admitted he did feel remorse about the situation, saying: "I felt bad, I did feel bad...she is a lovely girl." This now leaves Paige coupled up with Jacques and there are currently no single contestants felt in the villa.

At the end of the episode, Love Island teased the entry of two new male bombshells to the villa who are sure to come in and cause some drama. Elsewhere in the episode, Luca Bish and Andrew Le Page argued when Andrew claimed he didn't care that Tasha Ghouri, who he is coupled with, was chatting to another boy.
