Israeli military tanks were sighted in central Rafah on Tuesday, marking the first appearance of such vehicles since the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) entered the southern city earlier this month. Eyewitnesses reported the presence of Israeli tanks in key locations within Rafah.
One resident, Alaa Abu Ibrahim, mentioned that Israeli tanks were observed at Al Awda roundabout in the city center. Another resident, Salma AlKadoomi, reported seeing Israeli armored vehicles in the downtown area near the Abu Hashem building. According to AlKadoomi, these vehicles made their way through the city during the night.
The appearance of Israeli tanks follows a recent missile strike by Israel on a displacement camp near Rafah, resulting in numerous casualties. This incident has sparked international outcry, with calls for Israel to adhere to the ruling of the International Court of Justice. The court had previously ordered Israel to cease its offensive operations in the city.
