Hair shedding became one of the most talked-about cosmetic complaints linked with GLP-1 medicines. Now, researchers have found another change that is drawing attention: nail problems. A study presented at the 2026 European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Congress found that nail detachment was reported by 39% of GLP-1 users, compared with 9% of a comparison group. That is more than four times as common. But there is an important catch: the study shows an association, not proof that Ozempic or another GLP-1 drug directly caused the problem.
