Heading into the offseason, the Miami Dolphins were expected to have a clear need at tight end.
Mike Gesicki and Adam Shaheen were hitting free agency, meaning their top option at the position and a depth piece who missed all of 2022 likely wouldn’t be returning.
Then, Miami cut Cethan Carter and traded Hunter Long to the Los Angeles Rams, leaving just Durham Smythe and Tanner Conner in the room.
The Dolphins eventually signed veteran Eric Saubert and drafted wide receiver Elijah Higgins, who appears to be transitioning to tight end, to fill out the roster.
However, the room still feels like it’s missing talent, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Miami take a look at some of the remaining free agents left on the market. None of them are true game-changers, but they may be able to help.
