Former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers rushed to hospital for emergency op

Geordie Shore 's Aaron Chalmers has been rushed to hospital for an emergency operation.

The ex-reality star, who quit the MTV show in 2018 to concentrate on a career as an MMA fighter, shared snaps of his scary hospital dash on his Instagram Stories.

The 34-year-old revealed he needed urgent surgery on a hematoma on his nose, which needed to be drained.

“Emergency operation on the nose to drain a hematoma. Not ideal situation but a minor set back and back training ASAP ready for another fight date,” Aaron wrote atop the snap of him in a hospital bed, wearing a surgical gown.

He was due to make his professional boxing debut in his hometown of Newcastle on Saturday 2 April, but he’s had to pull out of the fight.

Aaron later shared another picture from the hospital, posting a black and white picture of a cannula inserted into his arm.

“Worst part is done [laughing emoji] Now just to wait for surgery!! Needles ain't for me like,” he confessed.

Girlfriend Talia Oatway then arrived to deliver sweets and food to him while he recovered post-surgery, and Aaron shared his gratitude in a touching post.

“Thank you darling woke up to loads of sweets and food on the ward,” he wrote.

Late on Wednesday night, he confirmed that the surgery was a success, and posted a Boomerang clip of him giving a thumbs up to the camera with a huge bandage on his nose.

Aaron has enjoyed success during his career as an MMA fighter, with a record of five wins and two defeats.

He last fought in February 2020, and after welcoming his third child with girlfriend Talia, he decided to quit his career as a cage fighter and head into the boxing ring.

Aaron is best known for appearing in reality shows such as Ex On The Beach and Geordie Shore, which he starred in from 2014 to 2018.

He struck up an on/off romance with Marnie Simpson, but they called it quits when he decided to exit the hit show to focus on his relationship with Talia.

Aaron said he had grown up and didn’t feel like he fit ion the show anymore, and wanted “somebody younger” to replace him.

“I've done what I need to do on there. You have to understand the show doesn't grow old, but we do. Six years ago it was fun, but we're getting older. The audience is getting younger and we're getting older,” he told MailOnline .
