- Country music icon Dolly Parton offered to try experimental drugs for cancer in her final months in order to help others with the disease, her sister says.
- Parton, 80, died earlier this month after being treated for an undisclosed form of cancer.
- “She told me recently that if there was no hope for her, she would still allow her medical team to try experimental drugs in the hope of helping others in the future,” Stella Parton said on Facebook.
- “My sister was always thinking of others and if you want to honor her legacy, show more kindness, lift others up and give more of your time and resources as she continued to do to the very end,” Stella added.
- Parton, who had an estimated net worth of $500m (£367.8m), was renowned for her extensive philanthropy, including funding Covid vaccine research and global literacy schemes.
