The Indianapolis Colts released WR Amari Rodgers ahead of Tuesday’s deadline for roster cuts, first reported by Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star.
Rodgers figured to be near the top of the competition for the No. 5 wide receiver spot considering his solid showing at training camp and the fact that he has the most special teams abilities of the depth wide receivers.
However, Rodgers will be released as the team works its way down to 53 players.
