A climber has been airlifted to hospital after breaking their leg during a horror fall on Ben Nevis.
Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team were called to help the stricken person on Tuesday after they became seriously injured on Comb Gully.
The casualty was packaged up onto a stretcher and moved further down the mountain where they were plucked to safety by a Coastguard rescue helicopter.
The mercy call came as the hero rescue crew were already out searching for two climbers who had been stuck on the snowy mountain overnight.
The duo were thankfully located near Tower Ridge and guided down the munro.
As rescuers headed back to base camp, a third call came in reporting a third couple stuck towards the top of Tower Gully.
A statement from Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team said: “Yesterday morning the team had an early start to assist a pair of climbers who had been crag fast overnight on Tower Ridge.
“Varying weather allowed R199 to air lift some team members up to the CIC hut whilst others were heading up the ridge.
“After a search lasting several hours in some testing weather conditions, the pair were located off route and were lowered to safety.
“Whilst the first shout was underway we received a second, for a fallen climber on Comb Gully with a lower leg fracture.
“The casualty was able to be packaged and moved further down the hill to a point where R151 were able to come in and extract them.
“Whilst the team were heading back to base for a well earned spot of dinner, we received a third call to a couple stuck towards the top of Tower Gully.
“Thankfully with a bit of guidance the pair were able to reverse their tracks to easier ground.
“A big thanks goes out to everyone on the hill, including Prestwick and Inverness helicopter crews, all the folks who offered to help carry the kit (sorry we didn’t get your names) and those who provided hot tea and snacks at the CIC hut for us.”
