Communications consultancy Aspect has acquired digital agency Web Integrations for a six-figure sum.
The all-Aberdeen deal should strengthen Aspect’s core proposition with the addition of in-house digital marketing, website development and search engine optimisation expertise.
Established in 2002, Web Integrations has amassed a large portfolio of clients across a range of sectors in Scotland, the UK and internationally.
Ewan Duthie, formerly managing director of Web Integrations, has been appointed digital director at Aspect and joins the company’s leadership team alongside Andrew and Yvonne McCallum and communication directors Jenny Adams and Leona Minellas.
Senior designer Aynsley Smith, lead developer Ryan Duncan and developer Stephen Anindo have also joined Aspect’s 50-strong team of employees and associates.
Work to transition Web Integrations into the Aspect business should be completed in early 2023.
At the same time, following three years of growth, which has seen the Aspect core team grow from five to 22 employees, the company has also invested in a new headquarters at 42 Carden Place in Aberdeen.
Andrew McCallum, the firm's founder and chief executive, said: “We’re very pleased to have completed the acquisition of Web Integrations and we’re excited to welcome Ewan and his talented team to Aspect.
“Combining their specialist digital capability with Aspect’s expertise in marketing and brand, content creation, media relations, public affairs and stakeholder engagement, enhances our integrated strategic communication consultancy.
“Moving to our new HQ is a big moment for us,“ he continued. “While continuing to prioritise a flexible, hybrid way of working, the move brings the Aspect team together in one location for the first time.
“We expect our strong growth in 2022 to continue in 2023, in our existing sectors and geographies, in new markets and through further strategic acquisitions.“
McCallum stated that to support this strategy, Aspect is looking for three senior roles – marketing and campaigns lead, media relations and content lead, and public affairs and stakeholder engagement lead.
Duthie added: “We’ve been strategic partner of Aspect for several years and have thoroughly enjoyed working with Andrew and his team on a wide range of projects – there’s always been a strong relationship between our two organisations, so I’m naturally very excited about what the future holds.”
