M-Sport and Tanak proved tyre decisions are still crucial

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem revealed at last weekend’s Acropolis Rally that the three-time WRC constructors’ winner (1995-1997) is considering a possible return to the championship.

The M-Sport driver ended Friday morning’s two stage loop in fourth, 8.3s adrift of leader Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville, before drama struck in the tyre fitting zone.

Neuville completed the rally's first loop of gravel stages with a slender 2.0s advantage ahead of overnight leader Rovanpera, who impressed despite starting first on the road.
