MotorGP parent Dorna Sports to continue to run the Madrid-based company

On Monday 1 April, Formula 1 owner Liberty announced it had acquired MotoGP and parent company Dorna Sports from Bridgepoint Capital for €4.2 billion.

The American entertainment company, which has owned the rights to Formula 1 since 2016, will take over Dorna, which has owned MotoGP since 1992 and also controls WSBK and the MotoE World Cup, in a deal valued at €4.2 billion.

Binder was a highly rated rookie when he stepped up to MotoGP in 2020 with the factory KTM team, having won the Moto3 crown in 2016 and runner-up in Moto2 in 2019.
