William's drastic strategy after Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview 'lost all trust'

Prince William turned to a drastic strategy after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey interview shattered all trust between them.

As the relationship between Harry and the royals deteriorated further and further, things came to a head, leading to him and Meghan abandoning their posts as working royals and moving across the Atlantic.

In the months after, they sat down with famous US talk show host Oprah Winfrey in a now renown bombshell interview.

A new royal book claimed this marked a “chilling new low” in Harry’s relationship with his brother and father - but things have fallen further since.

The interview also led to William employing a drastic new tactic to deal with “renegade” royals.

MailOnline reported that Our King, a new bombshell royal book, by Robert Jobson, claimed the interview led to the royals losing all remaining trust in Harry.

The book said: “In the aftermath, William went to his father and told him that the Royal Family needed a clear strategy in dealing with the renegade royals. Charles agreed.”

The royals decided to no longer treat Harry as a “trusted” member of the family - this meant never meeting with him alone, and always having another person in the room with them.

It went on to add: “Not only had Harry heavily implied to Oprah that a member of the family was racist, but he’d had the gall to claim that his father and brother knew they were ‘trapped’ in their royal roles — ‘and I have huge compassion for that,’ he had added, twisting the knife.

“Both Charles and William had been extremely upset by Harry’s arrogance, aghast at his lack of discretion and furious that he’d had the audacity to speak about their supposed feelings.”

The book made a number of other explosive claims about what went on as Harry’s relationships with other senior royals fell apart.

This included during the Sandringham Summit, when Harry and Meghan’s future was thrashed out - and ultimately fell apart.

At the time, the Queen reportedly had the room swept for bugs, and refused to let Meghan join through video link as it wasn’t thought to be secure.

The late monarch also was said to have been left quite puzzled by Harry's outbursts and thought he was "quite made".

Queen Elizabeth also thought Harry was "so consumed" by his love for Meghan that it was "clouding his judgment", the royal correspondent claimed.

Another incident it highlighted was one moment following the Queen’s death, when Kate reportedly thought was “one of the hardest things she’d ever had to do”.

Due to “ill-feeling” between the senior royal couples, the Princess of Wales is said to have struggled with the time spent together, outside Windsor Castle, two days after the Queen had died.

William had the idea to walk together in an effort to project unity, but the book claimed this was just an “illusion”.

As things stand, the relationship between the Sussexes’ and the rest of the royal family is at an all-time low.

Following the explosive Netflix documentary, Harry’s bombshell memoirs, and a number of damning interviews, it isn’t even known if they will be present at King Charles’ upcoming coronation.
