Why the Ravens are wearing ‘Joe D’ and ‘Jacoby’ helmet decals in 2024

If you’re watching the Baltimore Ravens play in 2024, you’ll see some decals on their helmets that say “Joe D” and “Jacoby 12.”

What’s the deal with those? If you’re asking that, you’ve come to the right place.

“Joe D” is Joe D’Alessandris, the beloved Ravens’ offensive line coach who had coached in football for 45 years and who died in August of 2024.

“Jacoby 12” is for Jacoby Jones, the former Ravens receiver and kick returner who died at the age of 40 in July. He played five years for the Houston Texans before making it to Baltimore for three seasons — he famously returned a kickoff 109 yards in Super Bowl 47 in a championship win.
