What Happens If You Eat Eggs Daily? Doctor Explains BenefitsEgg is one of the most popular food items in Indian households. In fact, when we start going to gym, a lot of us hear our trainers recommending us to eat more eggs. However, some people avoid or reduce egg consumption due to the worries that their cholesterol levels might increase. In this article, we will explore what will happen to our bodies and overall health if we eat eggs everyday. Along with understanding the powerful benefits provided by this superfood, we will also break down the reality of egg's relationship with cholesterol. All the details provided in this article are shared by Dr. Saurabh Sethi, a Stanford and Harvard-trained gastroenterologist in one of his Instagram post.

Powerful Benefits of Eating Eggs for 14 Days

White Eggs

1. Eggs improve Brain Health

Eggs are packed with choline. It is an important nutrient that helps our body in the generation of acetylcholine which is a neurotransmitter that is associated with concentration and memory retention.

2. Reality of Eggs and Cholesterol

Fresh Eggs at Market

A lot of individuals are afraid of eggs, particularly the yolks, as they believe that their cholesterol levels can rise up. However, according to Dr. Sethi, for many of us eggs can help in balancing our cholesterol levels by increasing HDL i.e., the “good” cholesterol. In short, eggs are good for the heart when eaten as part of a balanced diet.

3. Eggs are Good for the Eyes

Zeaxanthin and lutein that are present in egg yolks are excellent antioxidants that can protect our eyes. They do this by filtering out harmful blue light. Furthermore, they also play important roles in ensuring the long-term wellbeing of our eyes.

4. Eggs for Skin, Hair and Nails

Dr Sethi points out that eggs are rich in amino acids that are filled with sulphur. By working together, these amino acids will significantly help in the production of keratin in our body. As we may already know, keratin is a key protein for maintaining healthy skin, nails and hair.

Dr Sethi’s Recommendation for Vegetarians

The Dr. says that those people who are vegetarians should focus on food items that are based on soy such as tofu, edamame and tempeh. These are some of the best plant-based protein sources that come close to eggs.
