Tyson Fury's dad wants his son to part ways with head coach SugarHill Steward before his next fight.
Heavyweight champion Fury partnered up with SugarHill, who is the nephew of legendary trainer Emanuel Steward, before his rematch against Deontay Wilder in February 2020. 'The Gypsy King' was coached by Ben Davison following his three-year hiatus from boxing, with the trainer guiding him to wins against the likes of Otto Wallin and Tom Schwarz.
Fury's dad John has played down SugarHill's skills as a trainer despite the trainer leading the heavyweight champion to back-to-back knockout wins against Wilder and stoppage wins against Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora. "It wasn’t rocket science what he needed to do to beat Deontay Wilder, SugarHill was in the right place at the right time," Fury Sr told Seconds Out.

"Tyson again, like the previous men before him, he’s made them all famous. It’s not because of how good they are, he didn’t do much for Lawrence Okolie, did he? Where was his box of tricks with him? Awful. If he was that good of a trainer, why did Emanuel Steward his own blood-uncle give Johnny Banks the head job?
"Why didn’t [Wladimir] Klitschko employ SugarHill, instead of Johnny Banks getting the top job? I’ve nothing against SugarHill at all, nothing. He is a man getting paid like everybody else. Another one feeding a living off of The Gypsy King. You’ll never get no straighter chat than me. Tyson, wind him up and let him go."
It's not the first time Fury's dad has slammed SugarHill, as he criticised the trainer last month as a "10 per cent man". Fury's dad accused SugarHill and other members of his son's team of not being honest with him in training sessions as they are "scared" of being sacked by the heavyweight champion.
Fury is struggling to book a fight at the moment as his team is yet to receive an offer from the Middle East to stage an undisputed fight against fellow heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. The pair were supposed to fight at the end of April, but talks broke down between the two parties over a rematch clause. Usyk signed with Skills Challenge Promotions last month in the hopes of setting up the undisputed fight and the Saudi Arabian promotion has told Fury a "premium offer" is coming his way soon.
