Georgia man boating on allegedly haunted lake stops to catch his hat when it blows off. Then he falls.

A 71-year-old man has tragically drowned in Georgia’s Lake Lanier after slipping from his boat. The incident occurred on a Saturday afternoon near Three Sisters Island. Per reports, it is just another somber event at Lake Lanier, which has become notorious for its high volume of accidents and fatalities.

According to The US Sun, Kim Gregory Battle, a resident of Buford, was operating his vessel when the wind caught his hat. He brought the boat to a stop and moved toward the stern to grab the item. Witnesses reported that he lost his footing during this maneuver and fell into the water, where he unfortunately never resurfaced. Per FOX 5 Atlanta, emergency crews were alerted to the situation at approximately 3:28 PM.
