Britain's Got Talent, 8 pm, ITV1
Bruno Tonioli became known for his outlandish antics when he was a judge on Strictly Come Dancing - so we would expect similar levels of crazy as he joins Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon on the panel as Britain’s Got Talent launches its 16th series. And he doesn’t disappoint! As the auditions get underway at the London Palladium, Bruno is bursting with enthusiasm - he gets
so excited about one particular act that all hell breaks loose! But trust us when we say it is TV gold… If the talent in this opener is anything to go by, this could be a vintage year for BGT. Don’t miss the second auditions show tomorrow night at 7.45 pm.

Magpie Murders, 9.15 pm, BBC One/iPlayer
The link between present-day book editor Susan (Lesley Manville) and 1950s fictional detective Atticus Pünd (Tim McMullan) grows this week when she consults him on ‘whodunnit’ in the latest Pünd mystery. ‘Why can’t you just tell me?’ she asks the apparition in frustration, and it’s fair to say that trying to discover what happened in that missing chapter of Magpie Murders, as well as who killed its author, has taken over Susan’s life. She’d be living on wine and Jaffa Cakes if it wasn’t for Andreas (Alexandros Logothetis)popping round to make dinner. But has she made a breakthrough when she learns that the Magpie Murders plot may have been stolen from another manuscript?

Lyra, 9.25 pm, Channel 4
It’s been four years since 29-year-old Belfast journalist Lyra McKee was senselessly murdered by dissident group The New IRA while covering a violent riot in Derry. Now the trailblazing writer’s life is being honoured in a poignant film, which follows Lyra’s friends and family on their quest for justice, and also looks back on her life and career. Lyra narrates her own story through voice recordings and interviews, taking us beyond the news headlines. It’s a powerful must-watch about love, grief and the ongoing struggle by politicians to keep Northern Ireland’s fragile peace.

The 1% Club, 9.25 pm, ITV1
The first series of the quiz show which features questions relating to logic grew in popularity once viewers realised that it wasn’t the usual ‘name the capital of Hungary’ or ‘which actor has played James Bond the most times?’ type of show. It gets you to think about things from a different anglevand becomes quite compelling as the questions get more difficult (until supposedly only 1% of the population would be able to work out the answer). The tension in the studio – up to £100,000 prize money is up for grabs – is undercut by host Lee Mack’s off-the-cuff quips. As it returns for a second series, see how you and your family fare against the rest of the nation!

Best box set on TV tonight
Beef is a new 10-part comedy series about two people who collide after a road rage incident. This causes Danny Cho (Steven Yeun), a failing contractor with a chip on his shoulder, to go head-to-head with Amy Lau (Ali Wong), a self-made entrepreneur with a picturesque life.
Danny and Amy find their lives affected by this seemingly everyday encounter. With a great supporting cast on board too, this "edgy, smart, revenge fable" should be perfect binge-watch material.

A spacecraft transporting thousands of people to a distant planet malfunctions. As woken travelling companions Jim Preston and Aurora Lane fall in love, they are soon on a collision course with more technical problems and a dark secret.
