Two males police wish to speak to
(Picture: Met Police)Police have released images of two men a year on after the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old in north London.
Aspiring lawyer Sven Badzak died after being attacked and stabbed in Willesden Lane, Kilburn around 5.40pm on February 6, 2021.
The University of Roehampton student had been running an errand to Waitrose after picking up a salmon and cream cheese bagel for his mother at the time.
A then sixteen-year-old boy was also stabbed.
Although three males have been charged in connection with Sven’s death, police believe that a number of suspects are still outstanding.
On Thursday, police released CCTV images captured near to the scene shortly before Sven’s killing, showing two men they wish to speak to.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rogers, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “More than a year has passed since this horrific incident that took a young man from his family and our investigation remains ongoing.
“Sven’s family deserve justice and we will not rest until we identify those responsible and bring them all before the courts.
“We would ask anyone – especially those in Kilburn and the wider area near where the incident took place – to take a careful look at these images to check whether you know who these males are and if you saw them in the vicinity of Willesden Lane on 6 February 2021.”
Speaking in the wake of her only son’s death, Sven’s devastated mother, Jasna Badzak, paid moving tribute to her son as “the most polite boy you could possibly imagine,” who was “beloved by everybody”.
She told the Standard that the “last thing he said to me was 'thank you, I love you' on the phone.”
His mother remembered him as “so charming”, with a skill for debating, meaning “he could have gone to the very top and be Prime Minister”.
