Stocks slide globally as investors digest Trump’s new tariffs—and analysts warn the worst is yet to come

  • Global stocks are sliding after President Trump’s new tariff announcement, with S&P 500 futures down nearly 1% and major indices falling worldwide. Analysts warn the true impact of these tariffs will hit the U.S. economy in the coming months through higher costs for companies and consumers. S&P 500 futures are down nearly 1% this morning, prior to the opening bell, and stocks across the globe are tumbling too as investors digest Day 1 of President Trump’s latest tariff regime.
