It went on: "Buchanan Bus Station remains closed at this time. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this situation."

FirstBus said that "due to an ongoing emergency incident at Buchanan Bus Station, services are currently unable to enter or leave the station which is currently closed to passengers".

The firm directed customers to updates on its website, which at the time of writing stated: "Due to an ongoing Police Incident at Buchanan Bus Station – multiple services are diverting due to impacting road closures.
