A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in southeast London early on Sunday morning.

The shooting took place on Bexleyheath Broadway, where the Metropolitan Police were called at 2:15am on January 4 after receiving reports of a shooting.

The Met previously arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder at the scene.

He was taken to the hospital and has since been released on bail.

A 30-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound by the London Ambulance Service, who subsequently took him to the hospital. On Monday, the force confirmed that he is in a stable condition.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service previously said: "We were called at 2.10am today (4 January) to reports of a shooting on Broadway, Bexleyheath.

We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast-response cars, and an incident response officer.

"We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated two people and took them to hospital."
