Raphael Varane has posted an update from his return to Manchester United training.
While the Frenchman is back and clearly raring to go, there was no sign of his United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Carrington. The Manchester Evening News revealed that Ronaldo would not be returning to training on Monday due to 'family reasons'.
Ronaldo's absence comes following days of speculation over his future, with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner reportedly telling United to accept any 'reasonable' offers for him this summer. The club, however, are standing firm and insist the forward is not for sale.

Despite Ronaldo's absence, Varane was clearly delighted to be back at United. The 29-year-old was all smiles at Carrington as he provided his followers with a small glimpse of his pre-season preparations. He posted a selfie on Instagram with the caption: "Back to business."
Varane is likely to face competition at Old Trafford next season after United submitted a £37m offer for Ajax centre-back Lisandro Martinez. Erik ten Hag had been targetting his Ajax teammate Jurrien Timber, though it seems the youngster is now not keen on the idea of a move as he aims to secure his place in the Netherlands' World Cup squad later this year.
