Patagonia isn't a brand that chases trends, but that doesn't mean the company can dismiss them if it wants to continue selling ethically made outerwear in the future.
The brand's spring 26 collection not only introduced some lovely new colours and patterns, but it also launched a heap of new products, including jackets, fleeces, shorts, and t-shirts.

Two new jackets caught my eye, chiefly because they look great and offer the sort of utility I look for in outerwear.
The Isthmus Unlined Jacket is a lightweight, wind- and light-rain-resistant layer built from 100% recycled ECONYL nylon.
ECONYL is a regenerated nylon fibre developed by the Italian company Aquafil, made from waste rather than new oil-based plastic.

The unlined Isthmus takes the same retro workwear cues as the insulated deck jacket version but reworks them into a lighter, spring-ready windbreaker.
Designed with a roomy fit, elastic cuffs/hem and a classic sporty look for everyday wear, the Isthmus is positioned as a simple, versatile shell rather than a technical waterproof jacket.
It comes in three colours, Slab Khaki, Ink Black and New Navy.
The other, slightly more affordable model is the simply-named Lightweight All-Wear Unlined Jacket.
It's a workwear-inspired “shirt-jacket” hybrid made from organic cotton, hemp and a touch of stretch for breathability and comfort.

Its unlined construction keeps it airy for warm or transitional conditions.
The Lightweight All-Wear Unlined Jacket is better suited to warmer climates and light wind.
On the other hand, the Isthmus can handle some light rain while also blocking the wind.
Even though the garments seem to follow the workwear-as-fashion trend, they also fit seamlessly into Patagonia's hardwearing, eco-friendly lineup.
Not to mention, the brand has its own workwear lineup, featuring options for everything from carpentry, farm work and beyond.
The Isthmus Unlined Jacket and the Lightweight All-Wear Unlined Jacket are available now at Patagonia US for $179 and $145, respectively.
International prices and availability TBC.
