Notre Dame Cathedral To Reopen In December After Restoration

After five years and eight months, today we’ll get a first look inside the Parisian cathedral of Notre Dame, as French President Emmanuel Macron tours the site ahead of its public reopening in early December.

The church is over 860 years old and large parts of the cathedral burnt down after a massive blaze in April 2019.

At the time, Macron swore to rebuild the UNESCO World Heritage Site within five years. Hundreds of architects, highly specialized artisans and master craftspeople were brought in to help restore the treasured landmark to its former glory.

Fast forward 2,055 days and Macron will be carrying out his seventh and final visit to the construction site today. Many parts have been restored, even those untouched by the fire.
