The 49ers on Tuesday didn’t do much in practice on what is a player’s day off in a normal week. Their practice participation report was once again a projection based on a full session, and there weren’t any changes from the projected report they issued Monday.
Here’s what head coach Kyle Shanahan announced ahead of Tuesday’s practice:
Did not participate
WR Deebo Samuel (knee, ankle)
QB Jimmy Garoppolo (foot)
DT Hassan Ridgeway (pectoral)
DT Kevin Givens (knee)
S Tarvarius Moore (knee)
CB Samuel Womack III (concussion)
Limited participation
QB Brock Purdy (oblique, rib)
RB Christian McCaffrey (knee)
DL Kerry Hyder Jr. (ankle)
DL Arik Armstead (ankle, foot)
CB Ambry Thomas (ankle)
Shanahan did provide some optimism about Samuel by giving a timeline of “three-ish weeks” on his return, which would bring the receiver back by Week 18.
He was mum on Purdy’s availability, though he did indicate the rookie QB would only be dealing with pain tolerance and not an issue of further injuring his rib and oblique injuries.
