Nets Trade Kyrie Irving to Mavericks, per Reports

Kyrie Irving Nets Mavericks Dorian FinneySmith Spencer Dinwiddie

The Nets are trading point guard Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a 2029 first-round pick and multiple second-round picks, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania report.

According to Charania, the Nets are receiving a 2027 second-round pick, a ’29 second-round selection and an unprotected ’29 first-round pick from the Mavericks. Markieff Morris is also part of the trade and will head to Dallas after one season in Brooklyn.

The move comes days after Irving requested a trade from the Nets when extension talks between he and the team reportedly broke down. Irving is set to become a free agent after the season.
