A woman revealed how a £30 pair of Puma sliders saved her life as she vacuumed her fake grass. Kerry Tattersley, 36, was almost electrocuted when she ended up touching a live current.
The contact resulted in an instant electric shock with enough force to throw her back into a nearby wall and she needed treatment in hospital. Doctors there told her the rubber on her sandals had repelled the shock and saved her life.
Support worker Kerry, from Halifax, said: "I was in my garden vaccing my artificial grass and my extension lead was plugged in too. I had finished vaccing the grass and went to unplug the extension and the back plastic bit must have been loose.
