Minnesota has confirmed 42 measles cases so far in 2026, and most of the recent growth comes from two unrelated outbreaks in rural counties. The Minnesota Department of Health reported that 25 cases have been identified in Todd and Fillmore counties since mid-September, with 23 of them reported in the past 21 days. The department's figures, updated Oct. 15, are preliminary.
Todd County, in central Minnesota, has 19 cases, the most in the state. Fillmore County, in the southeast, has six. Everyone in the two outbreaks was unvaccinated, and the median age of Minnesota's cases is about 7, MPR News reported.
