McDonald's has announced it is cutting two popular items off its menu from today, Wednesday, May 31, with fans describing their removal as a "shame". The Mega Hot Sauce and Garlic Mayo dips only spent three week's on the fast food chain's menu, having only been introduced for a limited time - but those who frequent McDonald's are still disappointed about the change.
The sauces were launched to celebrate the 40th birthday McNuggets and quickly won over fans. In fact, some even went as far as to dub the new additions "the GOAT of dips, reports the Mirror.
Although they knew it wouldn't be forever, many Maccies fans just aren't ready to say goodbye just yet, and have begged the fast-food giant to keep the sauces as a permanent fixture. Taking to Twitter, one person pleaded: "You need to make garlic mayo permanent and bottled!

"It's the GOAT of dips. I will even go as far as saying better than curry dip. Please make my dream come true."
Another tweeted: "Please never remove the mega hot sauce, it's perfect spice for a Maccas." A third person commented: "Shame you aren't keeping them love the Mega Hot Sauce although it could do with a bit more heat."
Said to be a "truly spicy dip", the Mega Hot Sauce is described as a "powerful blend of crushed red pepper, and jalapenos", while the Garlic Mayo option is a "classic cool mayo with a punchy hit of garlic". If you've missed out on trying these sauces for yourself, then there's no need to despair.
Two other limited-edition condiments are set to land on the menu from May 31, in a "second drop" to mark McNuggets' landmark birthday bash. Depending on preference, Maccies fans can pick up a packet of Chipotle Mayo or Creamy Ranch at their local branch while stocks last.
The Creamy Ranch is said to fuse "flavours of onion and garlic to create a perfectly creamy dipping sauce", while the Chipotle Mayo is a "mild tangy smoky sauce with a hint of spicy flavour".
