McDonald's fans have been left distraught after discovering that two popular new items are set to get the boot from menus tomorrow
The items going away on May 31 are the Mega Hot Sauce and Garlic Mayo Dips. Despite being on the menu for less than three weeks, the popular dips will be removed to make way for two new flavours.
The fast food chain's Mega Hot Sauce is said to be a spicy blend of crushed red pepper and jalapenos, while the garlic mayo flavour is a classic mayo flavour with a punchy hit of garlic.
Officially launched to celebrate the 40th birthday of McNuggets, the limited dips quickly won over fans, some of whom have declared them "the GOAT [greatest of all time] of dips", reports the Mirror.
As the new dips were the first new flavours that Maccies fans had been treated to for a while, it is understandable why so many fans aren't ready to say goodbye.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "You need to make garlic mayo permanent and bottled! It's the GOAT of dips. I will even go as far as saying better than curry dip. Please make my dream come true."
A second tweeted: "I'm so sad to hear that Mega Hot Sauce and Garlic Mayo dips are being removed from McDonald's menus. These were my two favorite dips, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do without them."
A third wrote: "Shame you aren't keeping them love the Mega Hot Sauce although it could do with a bit more heat."
However, fans won't have to be upset for long, as the fast-food chain is set to be adding two new dips to the menu - Chipotle Mayo and Creamy Ranch.
Arriving tomorrow (Wednesday, May 31), the new items are the second wave of flavours to be launched in celebration of the chain's anniversary for its iconic McNuggets.
Similar to the Mega Hot Sauce and Garlic Mayo Dips, the two new flavours will only be available on menus for a limited time, as fans will only be able to try them while stocks last.
The Creamy Ranch is said to fuse "flavours of onion and garlic to create a perfectly creamy dipping sauce", while the Chipotle Mayo is a "mild tangy smoky sauce with a hint of spicy flavour".
