A man has been praised for his "wholesome" response after a neighbour asked him to keep it down after 11pm. He revealed that his neighbour sent a "friendly" note through his door asking him to turn his TV volume down during "bedtime hours".
Within the note, the neighbour showed her appreciation toward his taste in TV - saying she also enjoys Game of Thrones but not while she is trying to get some shut-eye. Her note read: "Dear neighbour. I would like to ask you friendly to keep the TV noise down during bedtime hours (11pm to 8am).
"Even though I also enjoyed Game of Thrones a lot, I would rather not be able to follow complete episodes in the middle of the night. Thanks for your understanding."
In response, the man decided to interject a number of Game of Thrones references into his apology letter, hoping it would help to clear the water. His reply read: "Dear neighbour of House Bastings.
"Forgive me, I was unaware that my television was louder than a Dothraki horde during the late hours. Though not born a Lannister, I too always pay my debts. Take these chocolates as a gesture of goodwill.
"Brace yourself, quieter nights are coming. Gratitude for your understanding." While most Reddit users praised him for his "top shelf response", others begged him to be their neighbour because "he was so chill" about the complaint.
One user said: "That was classy and sweet. Happy surprise because that’s not the way I expected your note to go. Good on ya!"
Another user added: "You’re the neighbour we all want." A third user said: "This was just awesome all the way around. Good on you and your neighbour for diplomacy and consideration!" One more user added: "This made my day. Classy and clever response."
