Police are hunting an ‘Eastern European’ man after a nasty attack on Arbroath seafront.
The terrifying incident happened at West Links and left the victim with an arm injury.
Officers confirmed it took place between 5pm – 5:30pm on Thursday 5th May at a bench near the wooden bridge at Elliot.
A police spokesman told Dundee Live : “The victim was approached by a man described as about 6ft, slim build, eastern European appearance, wearing a dark face mask, black hooded top, grey gloves, slim-fit black jogging bottoms with white stripes down the sides, and who spoke broken English in a foreign accent.
“This person then assaulted him, causing an arm injury.
“The suspect then made off across the grass, where he was met by a second person who was only described as wearing dark clothing.”
The spokesman said that although there were not many people in the vicinity at the time of the incident, a man and a woman were seen out running nearby and may have witnessed part or all of this incident.
Officers would like to hear from them, or anyone else who may have information that could assist the investigation.
