LUCKNOW: Congress general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala on Monday blamed the faulty policies and skewed priorities of the BJP government for the price rise and inflation in the country.
“While the income of the common man was falling, the ruling BJP’s income has increased manifold, going up from Rs 780 crore to Rs 4,850 crore in seven years,” said Surjewala, while adding that the income of BJP’s two best friends had also increased to lakhs of crores.
“What is painful is the fact that this growth is coming at the cost of the service class and middle class people. BJP has made price rise uninvited permanent guests in Indian homes,” he said.
He also released a booklet to prove how price rise and inflation were at highest levels.
“People cannot even follow Modi ji’s advice of selling pakodas to create employment for themselves as the price of cooking gas (LPG) and cooking oil has gone up," he said.
He said, "While crematorium, graveyard and gun culture are echoing in UP, issues of unemployment and price rise remain untouched."
Accusing the Modi-Yogi (PM Narendra Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath) duo of bringing misery to the people, Surjewala said that the electorate must vote out the BJP to get relief from price rise and inflation.
