Boris Johnson has said we cannot declare a victory against Covid as he scrapped the rules in England.
He set out the Government’s living with Covid plan in a Downing Street press conference.
“Today is not the day we can declare victory over Covid because this virus is not going away,” the prime minister has said.
Elsewhere in the press conference, England’s chief medical officer Professor Sir Chris Whitty said the Omicron wave is “still high”.
Earlier on, Mr Johnson briefed MPs on the plan in the Commons on Monday.
Among the rules, the Prime Minister revealed the legal requirement to self-isolate following a positive test will be removed.
Also included as part of the new plan, Mr Johnson said free testing will end in England in April.
