Lewis Ferguson Aberdeen transfer resolve tested as Millwall launch 'cheeky' midfielder bid

Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson has been subject to a bid from English Championship side Millwall, according to reports.

The Scotland cap has been linked with a move away from the Granite City since last summer with Watford, Fulham and Cagliari all said to be keen on the 22-year-old.

And now Daily Telegraph reporter John Percy has stated that Millwall have submitted a £1.5 million bid to Aberdeen for Ferguson.

It is thought he could come to The Den as a replacement for Luke Freeman who returned to Sheffield United on the expiry of his loan, while Sheyi Ojo went back to Liverpool.

These departures have made attacking midfield a key area of improvement for Gary Rowett's side and Ferguson is believed to fit the bill.

Ferguson made 45 appearances in total for the Dons last season, scoring 16 goals including some key penalties as he finished as the club's top scorer despite it being their worst Premiership season since 2004.

Aberdeen have already agreed a deal to sell Calvin Ramsay to Liverpool earlier this week for a reported fee of up to £8million.

And boss Jim Goodwin has ensured fans that the money would be rightly put back into improving the Pittodrie squad ahead of next season.

Once the transfer is finalised, the 18-year-old will become the Dons' highest transfer fee received, topping Scott McKenna's move to Nottingham Forest in 2020.
