Leeds United are told who would be the 'perfect replacement' for Jack Harrison

Former Arsenal forward Kevin Campbell believes Ryan Kent could be a “perfect” signing for Leeds United. The 25-year-old is yet to sign new terms at Rangers with his existing contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Kent was first linked with Leeds in 2020, although reports of a potential move were quiet during the summer. However, with Kent set to be available on a free transfer next summer, the rumour mill is well and truly spinning again.

The Sunday Mirror claimed in their paper edition that Kent has refused a new contract and was going to watched by Leeds and Aston Villa during Rangers visit to Anfield on Tuesday.

Campbell told Football Insider: “Kent would be perfect. He would be the ideal replacement for Jack Harrison should he leave.

“Kent’s contract is running down so there is a bargain to be had there. You do that deal if you’re Leeds.

“They could sign him even if Jack Harrison stays or signs a new deal. Kent is a good player and you would be getting him cheap. He is affordable.

“That would be a good move for all parties. Leeds could sign a pre-contract agreement with him in January.”

Kent has registered one goal and four assists in six league appearances for Rangers this term. He initially arrived at Ibrox on a season-long loan from Liverpool before signing on a permanent basis in September 2019.

In his four years in Scotland, Kent has lifted the Scottish Premier League and Scottish League Cup, and also reached the UEFA Europa League final last term.

He has scored 31 goals and provided 51 assists in 185 appearances across all competitions for Rangers.
