Caring 50-year-old Lynda Murray works as a lollipop lady for the joint campuses of Wishaw Academy and St Ignatius Primary School and goes above and beyond for the children in her care.
Grateful Wishaw resident and mum Lisa Hall told Lanarkshire Live: “Lynda goes out of her way for the kids.
“She dresses up for them and they really think a lot of her. She is a bright and happy person and goes out of her way for the kids and the parents.
“At Easter time, she bought lots of eggs and treats and she even organised for the Easter bunny to come along to entertain the kids.
“The children think a lot of her and as parents we think that she is amazing.”
Newmains mum Lynda lives in the village with her husband William and son Ben and has devoted the past seven years to working as a lollipop woman and helping out as a dinner lady at the Wishaw campus.
And when Lisa told us about Lynda, we were only too pleased to help out, surprising her with this stunning floral display, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains which were presented by some of the children from the nearby school.
And on receiving the flowers Lynda told us: “I was totally overwhelmed, I didn’t realise what was happening when they presented me with them.
“It was a lovely surprise; it was unexpected and was such a nice thing for them to do. I really appreciate it. I absolutely love working here and I have a good rapport with the kids.”
