The Miami Dolphins, after losing out on edge rush Derek Barnett due to waiver priority, turned their attention to a two-time Super Bowl champion.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Miami is signing edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul off of the New Orleans Saints practice squad.
After the news broke, Pierre-Paul took to social media himself to share his reaction to the news.
The 34-year-old Pierre-Paul was born and raised in Deerfield Beach, Florida which is just over 30 miles from Miami Gardens. He attended Deerfield High School before spending part of his collegiate career at South Florida.
Both Miami and Pierre-Paul are hoping that a homecoming culminates in a third championship for the newest Dolphin.
