Ikoyi to host special dinner in celebration of Meedu Saad's new restaurant Impala

Two of London’s hottest chefs, Jeremy Chan of Ikoyi and Meedu Saad, who is soon to launch Soho restaurant Impala, will collaborate on a one-off dinner next month.

The duo will cook a celebratory dinner on March 7 to showcase the flavours set to define Saad’s new restaurant, one of 2026’s most eagerly anticipated openings.

Chan and Saad have spent the last two months exploring a “variety of diverse ingredients and cooking styles in order to create a hybrid cooking event that blends their visions into one”, the Standard was told, with the aim to spotlight hyper-seasonal British ingredients and global culinary styles.

Meedu Saad (Impala)

A 10 course menu will focus on charcoal grilling — a major part of Impala — as well as Ikoyi’s “spice-driven cuisine”, with influences from north Africa to north London.

Dishes will include sweetbreads with bordelaise sauce, lobster with saffron, and chestnut-fed chicken with black lime and bay leaf-marinated cockles.

“Meedu and I have had extensive conversations about this dinner,” Chan told the Standard.

“It’s as if we were opening a completely original restaurant for one night only. The menu is a true hybrid of our flavours and personalities, while we are also trying out some new ideas together.”

Ikoyi has long been one of London’s best restaurants and is widely tipped to be getting a third Michelin star at the upcoming awards in Dublin on Monday (February 9).

Impala, meanwhile, will see Saad, once of Soho gem Kiln, make his solo restaurant debut as part of the Super 8 group, which has hits such as Mountain and Som Saa.

The collaboration menu is priced at £250 per person. There will be two seatings between 5-8.45pm, with tickets are on sale tomorrow via the Ikoyi newsletter.
