Nottinghamshire Police discovered hundreds of cannabis plants inside a house in Stapleford while investigating a potential break-in. After receiving concerns a house had been burgled officers attended Frederick Road, Stapleford, at around 2.25pm on Saturday (June 3).
When officers arrived at the property they spotted that a window had been smashed and suspected something untoward could be taking place inside the house and went inside to investigate. Officers searched the house and found that the property was a front for cannabis cultivation, as plants were found growing across multiple rooms.
Around 300 cannabis plants were discovered and electricity was found to have been dangerously bypassed to power the illegal operation. The drugs were all seized by police, while the growing equipment was also taken out of commission.
