
The UK has seen unprecedented warm weather this week, with several records broken on Tuesday as temperatures reached highs of 40.3C in some parts of the country.
Dr Mark McCarthy, the head of the Met Office’s National Climate Information Centre, said it has been a “remarkable week for the UK’s climate”.
