The Met Office has issued its first-ever Red Extreme heat warning for parts of England as temperatures are expected to reach 40C next week.

The warning will be in place on Monday and Tuesday (18 and 19 July) after an Amber Extreme heat warning was initially put in place for Sunday to Tuesday (17, 18 and 19 of July).
