The redesigned Kia Telluride SUV debuted late last year with two new powertrain options. The automaker replaced the 3.8-liter V6 with a pair of turbocharged four-cylinder engines, one of which is a hybrid. The hybrid is a first for the three-row model—and Kia just released its pricing.
The 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid will start at $48,035 for the EX FWD trim, with five other trims available. The lineup tops out with the Telluride X-Line SX Prestige AWD that starts for just under $60,000.
Under the hood is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is optional. The SUV features electric motors and a 1.65-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, making a combined 329 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque.
The new hybrid is more powerful than the V6 it replaces, which produces 291 hp and 262 lb-ft. The electrified Telluride also makes more than the non-hybrid variant that makes 274 hp and 311 lb-ft.

The Competition

Despite automakers offering plenty of three-row options, only a few are available with a hybrid powertrain. A direct competitor is the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid. It starts at $45,760 (includes the $1,600 destination charge) for 2026, featuring the same turbocharged 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain, making 329 hp and 339 lb-ft.
Toyota offers a Grand Highlander Hybrid that starts at $46,505. It, too, has a 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain, but it produces only 245 hp combined. There’s also the Toyota Highlander Hybrid that’s smaller and more expensive—$48,815
There’s also the Mazda CX-90 plug-in hybrid. It’s more expensive, starting at $52,025. Its 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain makes 323 hp, which is on par with the Kia, but it comes standard with all-wheel drive. AWD is available on the EX trim for $50,035.
Kia offers a non-hybrid Telluride for 2027 that starts at $40,735, which is competitively priced against other non-hybrid three-row options.

Motor1’s Take: Kia’s embrace of offering a range of powertrains puts it in a position to entice fuel-conscious consumers to the brand. With so few three-row hybrids and no competitors from Ford, Dodge, or Chevrolet, the Telluride can continue to stand out and attract new buyers.
