The Hercules-2 joint military training kicked off at Mohamed Naguib military base in Egypt, with the participation of units of the Royal Saudi Land Forces, the US, Greece, Cyprus, the UAE and Jordan, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Sunday.

The spokesman for the Egyptian Armed Forces, Colonel Gharib Abdelhafeez, said in a statement that the several-day drills included procedures for the integration and familiarization of the participating forces to unify concepts, an exhibition of weapons and equipment used in training, as well as lectures on cybersecurity and international humanitarian law.

Abdelhafeez indicated that the training comes as part of efforts to strengthen military relations between Egypt and friendly countries, with the aim of developing and consolidating the foundations of military cooperation, SPA added.
